Semaglutide treatment is offered in our Agoura Hills, CA clinic under the supervision of Physician Dr. Michael Rankin MD, board-certified in internal medicine.

While we recommend in-person visits when possible, we do offer remote appointments and can ship Semaglutide injections for those who are a qualified candidate.

What is Semaglutide and how does it work?

Semaglutide is a medicine belonging to a class of drugs called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. Semaglutide works by imitating the GLP-1 hormone in your body, which boosts insulin production, reduces the release of glucagon, and slows down how quickly your stomach empties.

This helps lower blood sugar levels after eating and curbs appetite, which helps promote weight loss.

How does Semaglutide differ from Ozempic and Wegovy?

Semaglutide is the active ingredient in both Wegovy and Ozempic, but these contain different doses of Semalutide and are approved for different purposes.Ozempic – Approved for type II diabetes, lower dose than Wegovy.Wegovy – Approved for weight management, a higher dose than Ozempic.
